Birthplace: Villisca, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Alice D. Bergren, age 59, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha. Alice Donna Bergren was born March 24, 1952 in Villisca, Iowa the daughter of Jim and Wilma (Sebenecher) Lewis. She graduated from Villisca High School in 1970 and started work at the Clarinda Mental Health Facility. She was united in marriage to Richard Dozier and two children were born to this union: Tina and Richie. Alice moved to Red Oak in 1980 and was united in marriage to Gary "Pee Wee" Bergren on November 27, 1983. Over the years Alice worked for Williams Recreation, D & L, Eatons, TRACO, and most recently Merry Maids until January of this year. She was a former Red Oak Eagles member. Her family describes her as thoughtful, generous, considerate, loving, a joker, and hard working. Pee Wee also says that she was "Perfect". Alice loved collecting anything relating to Indians and loved eagles and angels. She also was known for all her decorations at the holidays whether it was Christmas or Halloween and others. Preceding her in death were her parents; her infant sister: Treiva; and her father-in-law: Dale Bergren. Survivors include her husband: Gary "Pee Wee" Bergren of Red Oak, Iowa; daughter: Tina Bressler and husband Tim of Red Oak, Iowa; son: Richie Dozier and wife Dawn of Red Oak, Iowa; grandchildren: Brittany Hartfield and husband Lincoln of Shenandoah, Iowa and David James Zwerk of Red Oak, Iowa; and expecting her first great-grandchild; sister: Coleen Herren and husband John of Red Oak, Iowa; brother: Duane Lewis of Colorado Springs, Colorado; mother-in-law: Lois Bergren of Red Oak, Iowa; sister-in-law: Joy Bergren of Des Moines, Iowa; brothers-in-law: Tom Bergren and wife Denise of Villisca, Iowa; and David Bergren and wife Shelley of Red Oak, Iowa; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Saturday, April 23, 2011 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dale Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Friday, April 22, 2011 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
