Alfred Ricky "Rick" Punteney, Sr., age 71, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2022, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Rick was born April 17, 1951 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the son of Charles and Dorothy Punteney. He was raised in Council Bluffs where he attended school. After his schooling, Rick worked as a welder for 18 years at Omaha Standard and various other places. He moved to Red Oak about 14 years ago. His hobby was being a mechanic. He could fix anything including lawn mowers. He was known to be quite a jokester and enjoyed laughing and spending time with family. Preceding him in death were his parents and son: Joseph Falknor. Survivors include his wife Peggy Haynes Punteney of Red Oak; children: Angela Hazelbaker of Omaha, NE; Alfred Ricky Punteney, Jr. of Omaha, NE; Travis Punteney of Idaho; Helen Mitchell and husband James of Gillette WY; James Falknor and wife Sara of Eugene, OR; Tammy Ryan-Zuniga and husband Sean of Omaha, NE; and Letta Falknor of Red Oak, IA; many grandchildren; 1 great grandchild on the way; sister: Pat Woodworth; brother Charles Punteney and wife Tammy; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with cremation services.
