Birthplace: Castellane, France Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Renee J. DeBolt, age 80, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away, Monday, January 15, 2007 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Renee Juliette DeBolt was born March 22, 1926 in Castellane, France the daughter of Albert and Claire (Boyer) Dol. She was raised in France receiving her baccalaureate in 1944. During World War II she met Ardith "Dale" DeBolt and traveled back to the United States through Ellis Island and located in Gravity, Iowa with the DeBolt family. Renee and Dale were married June 13, 1947 in Sidney, Iowa. They lived in the Malvern, Emerson, Red Oak, and Stanton areas before moving to Fairfield, Iowa. They had been living in Fairfield for seven years when Dale passed away on December 22, 1985. The following year Renee moved back to Red Oak. Over the years Renee worked as an LPN in many nursing homes where they lived. While in Red Oak she worked for the Thomas D. Murphy Company as a secretary and the Red Coach Inn in the housekeeping department. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; her daughter: Sandra; son: Jerry; sisters: Helen DeFazio; Yvonne Pick; and Jeanne Barbier; and brother: Louis Dol. Survivors include her son: Nick DeBolt and wife Jeanie of Davenport, Iowa; daughter: Sharon DeBolt of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter-in-law: Teresa DeBolt of Glenwood, Iowa; five grandchildren: Jessica Holbrook and husband Jared of Storm Lake, Iowa; Jacob DeBolt of Glenwood, Iowa; Adam DeBolt of Glenwood, Iowa; Kelly DeBolt of Davenport, Iowa; and Trisha DeBolt of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; brothers-in-law: Les DeBolt and wife Evelyn of Red Oak, Iowa; Robert DeBolt and wife Marge of Charles City, Iowa; and Herb De Bolt and wife Lorraine of Clarinda, Iowa; sisters-in-law: Vivian Hicks of Emerson, Iowa; Viola McVay of Red Oak, Iowa; Myrna DeBolt of Carson, Washington; and Lucienne Dol of France; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday, January 19, 2007 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Father Ken Gross officiating. Burial will be in the Emerson, Iowa Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Thursday, January 18, 2007 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
