Birthplace: Silver City, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Phyllis Bradley, age 87, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Friday, January 27, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Care Center. Phyllis N. Bradley was born February 16, 1924 in Silver City, Iowa the daughter of Lue Eddie and Edna (Luzio) Hunt. She graduated from the Glenwood, Iowa High School in 1942 and was united in marriage to Byron "Bud" Bradley on April 16, 1944 in Glenwood. Phyllis lived all of her life in the Red Oak and Southwest Iowa area. She retired from Union Carbide Battery Company after 25 years of service. Phyllis enjoyed playing games of all kinds including, cards, BINGO, crossword puzzles, bowling, but she especially enjoyed playing the slot machines at the casino. Phyllis also treasured the time that she spent with her grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband: Bud Bradley on July 15, 1987; her son: Doug Bradley on January 11, 1986; sister: Kathleen Pfeiffer; and two brothers: Don Hunt and Virgil Hunt. Survivors include her daughters: Beverly Lawrence and husband Doug of Corning, IA and Pamela Kucker and husband Kenard of Red Oak, IA; 6 grandchildren: Angie Quist and Jeremy Clark of Red Oak, IA; Wendy Fish and husband Dale of Red Oak, IA; Amy Jessen and Jeremy Funk of Red Oak, IA; Cindy Orr and husband Brian of Red Oak, IA; Barb Jones and husband Jim of Elliott, IA; and Robert Waggener of Hanover, PA; great grandchildren: Sadie and Braden Quist of Red Oak, IA; Kyle Quist and wife Anne of Atlantic, IA; Mitch Perdue of West Des Moines, IA; Taylor Perdue of Ames, IA; Kelsey Perdue of Red Oak, IA; Nathan Guffey of Red Oak, IA; Jordan Magill and husband Terence of Elliott, IA; Blaire Gade and husband Levi of Griswold, IA; Andrew Orr and wife Midori of Omaha, NE; Courtney and Zachary Orr of Red Oak, IA; Allyson and Jacob Jones of Elliott, IA; and Megan and Ryan Waggener of Hanover, PA; great great grandchildren: Hunter Quist; Zane and Owen Magill; and Myah, Addy Jo, and Ella Gade; brothers: Keith Hunt and wife Jewel of Coffeyville, KS and Delbert Hunt and wife Jane of Council Bluffs, IA; sister: Donna Carlson and husband Leonard of Red Oak, IA; sisters-in-law: Nelly Hunt of Red Oak, IA and Wilma Johnson and husband Glenn of Glenwood, IA; many nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
