Birthplace: Vinton, Iowa Resided In: Elliott, Iowa Marcia Peterson, age 53, of Elliott, Iowa passed away, Saturday, January 21, 2006 at the Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Marcia June Peterson was born June 7, 1952 in Vinton, Iowa the daughter of Mearl and Lillian (Alcott) Jones. She was raised in the Vinton area graduating from the Vinton High School in 1970. She worked at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton for 7 years and Benco Mfg. in Belle Plaine, Iowa for 13 years. Marcia was united in marriage to Daniel L. Peterson on June 8, 1991 in Elliott, Iowa. They lived in Griswold for one year before making their home in Elliott, Iowa. While living in Elliott, Marcia had worked as a telemarketer in Atlantic, Iowa, worked at Vista Gardens and Dairy Queen in Red Oak and currently was employed at CDS in Red Oak. She was a member of the Elliott United Methodist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents; and a brother: Mearl Jones, Jr. Survivors include her husband: Daniel L. Peterson of Elliott, Iowa; 3 sons: Brendan Jones of Creston, Iowa; Paul Richard Kruse of Red Oak, Iowa; and Blake Kruse of Elliott, Iowa; grandsons: Anthony Jones of Belle Plaine, Iowa; and Mason Jones of Villisca, Iowa; 6 sisters: Sierra Sue Kerkman, Marlene K. Jones, and Luetta Rider and husband Bob all of Vinton, Iowa; Evelyn Bland and husband Ronald of Shellsburg, Iowa; Nancy Gray and husband Ron of Vinton, Iowa; and Mary J. Fall of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held 7 PM Monday, April 17, 2006 at the Elliott, Iowa United Methodist Church with Pastor Ray Martin and Pastor Darrin Kimpson officiating. Burial of cremated remains will be in the Maplewood Cemetery at Vinton, Iowa. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel of Red Oak, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
