Birthplace: Kellogg, Iowa Resided In: Stanton, Iowa formerly Red Oak, Iowa Edith Blanche McKenzie, age 102, of Stanton, Iowa formerly Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Accura Healthcare in Stanton. Edith was born January 14, 1915 in Kellogg, Iowa the daughter of John and Albertine (Winslow) Young. She graduated from Newton High School in 1936 and was united in marriage to John McKenzie that same year. They lived in Grant, Iowa from 1951-1956; Camanche, Iowa from 1956-1984; Newton, Iowa from 1984-2004 moving to Red Oak where Edith lived until moving to the Stanton Care Center five years ago. Over the years Edith worked for AC Nielson Company and was involved in many women's clubs and volunteer organizations for over 20 years. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband: John McKenzie on December 14, 2004; son: Jerry McKenzie; daughter-in-law: Shirlene Crabtree; granddaughter: LaDonna Focht; and brothers: Donald and Willard Young. Survivors include her granddaughter: Deb Liebig and husband Mike of Gretna, NE; grandson-in-law: Mark Focht and wife Michelle of Villisca, IA; great grandchildren: Andrew Focht and wife Karla of Villisca, IA; Aaron Focht and wife Rachelle of Villisca, IA; Lindsay Sunderman of Omaha, NE; Ryan Focht of Villisca, IA; Shelby Sunderman of Omaha, NE; Amanda Focht of Villisca, IA; and Cassady Sunderman of Omaha, NE; great great grandchildren: Lilly, Payton, Beckem, and Lynden; and many other relatives and friends. Graveside funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Grant, Iowa Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Eric Kutzli officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
