Harry Bohanan, age 91, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Saturday, August 4, 2001 at the Corning Nursing and Rehab Center in Corning, Iowa after an extended illness. Harry Aaron Bohanan was born December 7, 1909 in Corning, Iowa the son of Ralph and Christie (Fowler) Bohanan. He was raised in Corning and was united in marriage to Dorothy Corbin on September 7, 1932 in Maryville, Missouri. They farmed until Harry started working for the Iowa State Highway Commission in 1943. He worked out of the Corning, Iowa office until 1972 when he retired after 29 years of service. He and Dorothy moved to Red Oak at this time. Harry started working for Rubey Auction Company in 1974. He has been a resident of the Corning Nursing and Rehab Center for the past several years. Harry was a member of the Nishna Church of Christ in Red Oak.

Survivors include his wife Dorothy Bohanan of Red Oak, Iowa; son: Carlton Bohanan and his friend Melanie of Red Oak, Iowa; 3 grandsons: Bradford Bohanan and his wife Carol of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; Randy Bohanan and his wife Dominee of Corning, Iowa; and Scott Bohanan and his wife Nancy of Corning, Iowa; 12 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 9:30 AM Tuesday, August 7, 2001 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mark Imel officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. There will be open visitation at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel.
